Desert Echoes Flute Project (DEF) is Arizona’s premiere flute ensemble organization and is nationally recognized as an innovative and unique organization. The program features two large flute choirs, DEFproject and the Community Flute Choir, and the smaller Chamber Choir. DEF was founded in 2006 by Christina Steffen with a single small ensemble and has continued to grow and expand over the years into an extraordinary performance and educational program with the continued support of Mesa Community College. The flutists involved make Desert Echoes Flute Project a very special experience and the include community flutists, professionals, high school and college students, and music educators.
