Biography

Dr. Emily Schwartz is an award winning speaker, educator, and author with a background in instrumental and general music education. After years in the K-12 music classroom, she now teaches at the college level and is an in demand speaker and workshop clinician. Her topics include creativity in the classroom, communication and speaking, online learning best practices, and time management.

Emily was born and raised in Southern California and marched in the marching band at USC during her undergraduate studies before moving to Arizona to pursue teaching instrumental and general music in Mesa Public Schools. After completing her masters and Ph.D. at Arizona State University, she expanded her career to speaking and training, while conducting workshops at regional and national conferences. During the past 10 years, she’s been a featured speaker for Music and Arts, a school district clinician, and a guest in countless classrooms. She’s also translated her music teaching experience into the corporate world, using her experience in the classroom to teach better communication, training, and speaking skills to employees.

Her publications include “The Time Diet: Time Management for College Students,” “Time Management Workbook for Students” “Life in Cut Time: Time Management for Music Teachers” and “How to Speak so People Will Buy: Public Speaking Skills for Businesses.”
