Study Jazz Theory with Pete Pancrazi at MCC
MTC 130, Jazz Theory, is a 2 credit a class that is only offered in the fall and will meet on MWF at 11:00-11:50. This class is designed to take a practical view of music theory and apply it to improvisation and
composition. The course is also great for songwriters who want to broaden their harmonic and melodic range. Some of the topics covered in the class include:

Chord construction and chord symbol theory
Chord scale application
Key-relative and key-related chord and chord scale application
Song form and song analysis
Improvisation techniques
Composition techniques

Prerequisites include MTC100 and MTC103 or by permission from the instructor. If you’re interested in taking the class but don’t have the prerequisites,
